European Union Law
As one of the largest markets in the world, the European Union is an attractive destination for businesses from around the globe, and in recent years Hungary has become one of the most attractive destinations for foreign investment in Europe. Hungary, an EU member nation, is fully subject to European Union law, which often forms an important element of business transactions, particularly where there is a cross-border element involved.
Our experienced team assists clients in navigating their way through the complex world of EU legislation in many practice areas. We assist our clients in ensuring compliance with current and upcoming EU legislation and policy changes which may impact their operations. Many of our team members deal with issues of EU law, particularly in relation to competition and pharmaceutical issues, representing and advising clients on the relevant rules and regulations, as well as salient developments in a fast-changing legal landscape. We advise regularly in market sectors such as pharmaceuticals, energy, financial services, telecommunications, and transportation; all of which are subject to detailed EU legislation.
We are also involved in all aspects of EU sanctions law, in relation to their effects on States or companies.
More about this service
EU Approach
Companies working in numerous EU markets can often be puzzled by the variety of national laws with which they have to comply and regularly turn to us to help them make sense of their obligations. Although we are not experts on the national laws of other EU countries, we know the people who know.
Conference Bleue is an alliance of independent European law firms specializing in pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, and medical law. The group was first organized in 1997 by Professor Alexander Ehlers in Munich, Germany. Group membership consists of one law firm from every member state of the EU, approved by the general meeting to become the sole country representative of Conference Bleue. This allows the organization to remain exclusive and maintain a high standard network for EU law firms specializing in pharmaceutical and life sciences laws. Through our membership in Conference Bleue, we maintain a strong relationship with independent law firms around the EU. KNP LAW’s membership in Conference Bleue puts relevant advice at our lawyers’ fingertips, allowing them to guide our clients’ decision-making in the most complex and thorny questions.
