ON AUGUST 1, 2023 OGYEI WILL MERGE INTO NNK
Government Decree No. 333/2023 (VII. 20.) on the National Public Health and Pharmacy Center (hereinafter: “Government Decree”) was published in the Hungarian Gazette on July 20, 2023, in accordance with the news on the dissolution of the National Institute of Pharmacy and Nutrition (hereinafter with the Hungarian abbreviation: “OGYEI”).
Under the Government Decree, the name of the National Public Health Center will change to National Public Health and Pharmacy Center (hereinafter the Hungarian abbreviation: “NNGYK”), and OGYEI will cease to exist as it merges into NNGYK as of August 1, 2023. As OGYEI's successor, NNGYK will assume responsibility for OGYEI’s duties and tasks.
According to the Government Decree, the present Chief Medical Officer Cecília Muller, MD, will be responsible for the leadership of NNGYK.
