Oliver Koppany
Oliver’s practice involves assisting companies with their international operations, specifically in technology, life sciences, and real estate. He is involved with organizations in their day-to-day functions in Hungary and works closely with acquisition teams internationally with their M&A projects and set-up of their Hungarian operations. His focus is on matters which concern the United States and Hungary, and he often represents the interests of foreign entities with their activities in Hungary and Europe.
During law school, Oliver was a member of Willkie Farr & Gallagher’s Global Trade & Investment Practice Group, where he assisted clients with current and upcoming economic sanctions and export controls concerns, anti-money laundering concerns, international trade policy, and negotiations concerns and handled matters involving the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).
Oliver graduated from the American University Washington College of Law with a JD Degree. Before law school, Oliver worked as a Conflicts Analyst Assistant and then as a Conflicts Analyst with Hogan Lovells. He also spent time with Foley & Lardner, where he worked with attorneys of the firm on business development matters.
In his free time, Oliver enjoys coaching hockey and was selected as the Coach of the Year for the Montgomery Youth Hockey Association (Rockville, MD) in 2016. His team went on to win the Maryland State Championship in 2017.
